On 10 September 2021, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (“SASAC”), Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (“XUAR”), and Xinjiang Production and Construction (“XPCC”) Corps jointly organized a special event in Urumqi for State-owned Central Enterprises to facilitate Xinjiang’s high-quality development as part of the efforts to effectively implement the spirit of the Third Central Xinjiang Work Forum and the Eighth National Meeting on Pairing-Assistance to Xinjiang , as well as to completely adhere to the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s key instructions on Xinjiang and the Party’s strategy for governing Xinjiang in the new era, and to orchestrate the effort of State-owned Central Enterprises in support of Xinjiang in the new era. Chairman Wang Xiangming of the China Resources Group (“CR”) participated in the morning session of the event, namely the "Conference on Central Enterprises’ Aid for Xinjiang and Conference on State-owned Central Enterprises’ Aid for Xinjiang’s High-Quality Development".

The conference was presided over by Ren Hongbin, CPC Committee Member and Vice Chairman of SASAC; Chen Quanguo, Secretary of the CPC Committee of XUAR; and Hao Peng, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of SASAC, who addressed the conference as keynote speakers. Leaders from XUAR, XPCC and SASAC, and heads of Central Enterprises attended the conference.

During the trip, Chairman Wang Xiangming inspected CR’s Xinjiang business by hosting discussions with the heads of the group’s enterprises and sales units based in Xinjiang, in order to review the development of various businesses and understand the market conditions and challenges in Xinjiang. Chairman Wang greeted all the staff in various prefectures in Xinjiang cordially and extended his appreciation for their hard work and significant contributions in shaping the socio-economic development of Xinjiang. Chairman Wang Xiangming also conducted on-site investigations on the CR Vanguard store on Wenquan East Road in Urumqi to learn about its operations and the sales performance of Xinjiang’s specialty products.
