China Resources Group (CR) Chairman Wang Xiangming visited the Vice Chairmen of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Mr Tung Chee Hwa and Mr CY Leung, and Acting Commissioner of the Office of the Special Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Mr Yang Yirui during 25 February-1 March 2021 in Hong Kong.

Chairman Wang extended his New Year greetings to Mr Tung and Mr Leung of the National Committee of the CPPCC and thanked them for their continuous care, support and help to China Resources during the meeting. Mr Wang also presented to them CR’s business performance in 2020 and the initiatives of the Group in fighting against COVID-19. Underscoring the Group’s commitment to expanding its presence in Hong Kong, the Group will continue to leverage on its advantages and strengthen its investment in Hong Kong. While focusing on the consolidation of businesses related to daily life of people, the Group will actively support the development of Hong Kong as an international innovation and technology center and the establishment of a functional platform for "Belt and Road". In retrospect of CR’s development journey and milestones in Hong Kong, Mr Tung and Mr Leung was thankful for CR’s contributions to Hong Kong’s social-economic development and well-being of Hong Kong people over the years. They also expressed their congratulations and appreciation towards the Group’s stellar performance amid the pandemic in 2020. They looked forward to CR’s continuous and active expansion of business presence and social influence in Hong Kong.

In the meeting with acting commissioner Mr Yang Yirui, Chairman Wang shared the group’s development history, business strategy, operating performance and related work arrangements in Hong Kong. He thanked the Office of the Special Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in HKSAR for its continuous care and support for CR. In response, Mr Yang expressed his appreciation for the achievements of CR and thanked CR for the support and services provided to the office of the Commissioner in Hong Kong. The Commissioner will continue to deploy and coordinate resources and information in support of CR’s work and development in Hong Kong. Besides, the Commissioner and CR have further established a daily working linkage mechanism and exchanged views on supporting Hong Kong's integration into the overall national development plan, participation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the "Belt and Road" initiatives.
