Co-hosted by the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association (HKCEA), the Mainland Reception Day was held on February 14 at the Conrad Hong Kong. Mr. John KC Lee, Chief Executive of the HKSAR; Mr. Yin Zonghua, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government (LOCPG) in the HKSAR; Mr. Miao Jianmin, Chairman of the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association (HKCEA); and Chairman Wang Xiangming accomplished by Vice General Manager Wang Chuandong were invited to the event as the guests of honor. The event brought together nearly 700 representatives, including officials and LegCo Members from the HKSAR government as well as directors, executive directors, and advisors of the LOCPG, HKCEA, and mainland enterprises in the city.
In his address, Chief Executive Mr. John KC Lee expressed his recognition of the Group’s contributions to Hong Kong. He emphasized that the economic development of Mainland China and Hong Kong are inextricably intertwined, and that Hong Kong, being ranked as the world's third-largest economy in terms of foreign direct investment inflow, has evolved into a crucial bilateral platform for foreign investment entering the Mainland market and for Mainland enterprises going global. He extended his warm welcome to Mainland enterprises and encouraged them set foot in Hong Kong, leveraging the city’s advantages. At the same time, he promised the HKSAR Government will persist in strengthening and enhancing a healthy business environment to support Mainland enterprises’ development in the city and across the globe.
