On the afternoon of July 8, Chairman Wang Xiangming and his delegation paid a visit to Mr. John KC Lee, the sixth Chief Executive of the HKSAR at the Chief Executive’s Office in Hong Kong.
Chairman Wang congratulated to Mr. John KC Lee on his appointment as the new Chief Executive of HKSAR. Chairman Wang stated, China Resources (CR) Group, ever since its establishment in Hong Kong in 1938, has always been rooted in, been of service and grown as an entity alongside Hong Kong. It is the special mission and responsibility of CR Group as a central enterprise in Hong Kong to safeguard the long-term governance, prosperity and stability of Hong Kong. In recent years, CR Group has expanded its investment in Hong Kong, continued to drive the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, continuously strengthened its focus and layout in emerging industries and proactively participated in Hong Kong’s social affairs. At present, CR Group possesses solid market position and advantages in high-end retail, logistics and warehousing, and commercial properties in Hong Kong. In the future, CR Group will continue to improve and strengthen its business in Hong Kong, protect supplies for people’s livelihoods and increase efforts in cultural integration, public welfare and charity. CR Group will also introduce a series of new initiatives to boost education, employment, entrepreneurship and housing for Hong Kong youths implementing the spirit of President Xi’s address at a higher level and in a deep manner in order to facilitate the integrated development of the Mainland and Hong Kong supporting HKSAR’s governance in accordance with the law and contributing to the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.
Chief Executive John KC Lee welcomed Chairman Wang Xiangming and his delegation. He said that CR has made great contributions for the social and economic development of Hong Kong over the years. Nowadays, Hong Kong has entered a new development period shouldering the historical mission conferred upon by the Central Government and the people of Hong Kong. The new HKSAR Government is well aware of its responsibility. The important address made by President Xi Jinping during his visit has provided critical guidelines for the HKSAR Government’s administration in the next five years. Aiming for results, the HKSAR Government will be pragmatic and rise to challenges to solve social problems in order to enhance Hong Kong’s competitiveness across the board and develop its economy. It’s hoped that CR would seize the great opportunity of Hong Kong’s development to engage in livelihood projects led by the HKSAR Government, build demonstration projects in the development of smart cities and lead in terms of industrial development in a bid to gather the strengths of the community within the HKSAR Government to open a new chapter for Hong Kong while maintaining the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.
