On December 5-7, 2017, The 30th POWER-GEN International was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. CR Power’s Xihuashan Project in Haiyuan County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region was named World Best Wind Power Project of the Year 2017 while the Hezhou Project and Cangzhou Project were respectively included among the World Best Coal-fired Power Plants of the Year 2017 and World Best Cogeneration Projects of the Year 2017, both taking second place.

A key poverty-alleviation project of China Resources Group (CR) in Haiyuan Country, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region as part of the country’s targeted poverty alleviation drive, the Xihuashan Project, with a total investment of RMB 2.1 billion , an aggregate installed capacity of 300MW and is able to provide 755.7 million kWh of clean energy. It is the largest wind power project in terms of installed capacity. The completion of the project marked that electricity problems were solved among the locals to a large extent and promoted economic development and employment in poverty-stricken areas, setting a good example for clean energy development in China and even the world.

Outstanding achievements have been made in the CR Power Project in Hezhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in terms of the innovation and renovation of marble waste slurry desulfurization technology, the technical improvement of ultra-low emission of coal-fired thermal power units, the construction of multi-complementary power optimization on power supply side and the construction of industrial tourism demonstration projects. The CR Power Project in Cangzhou, on the other hand, has provided 18 million m2 of heat with two 300MW heat generating units, practically tackling the heating problem for more than 50,000 households and replacing more than 40 small heating boilers through reforming technology to improve heat supply. It is a useful example for the design, construction and heat supply upgrading of the cogeneration units.

The POWER-GEN International is the world’s largest exhibition of power generation projects, power operation, power transmission and distribution projects, power technology and the renewable energy industry, possessing extensive industry clout and authority across the world. The POWER-GEN International Awards are mainly given in the light of such factors as technological innovation, regional influence, challenges, value creation and performance improvement. The awards won by CR Power enterprises were also the first for Chinese enterprises, which reflects a high recognition of the green development of CR Power in the international community.
