Chinese Resources (CR) Chairman Wang Xiangming met with Ms Carol Liao, Managing Director and Senior Partner of Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and her team in Shenzhen on 5 February 2021 to exchange views on the collaboration of both organizations and the mindset governing the development of CR during the “14th Five-Year Plan”.

Chairman Wang extended his warm welcome to the BCG delegation and his appreciation towards cordial relationship between both organizations along the way. He briefed the guests on the development of CR during the “13th Five-Year Plan” period and the Group’s overall roadmap towards the “14th Five-Year Plan”, from the new corporate positioning, business model, organizational culture to the reform of state-owned capital investment companies of CR Group. In addition, Chairman Wang also shared with the delegation about the Group’s high-quality development effort in terms of stock and incremental business including strengthening, optimizing and expanding the stock business, and cultivating strategic mindset for incremental business growth during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period.

Ms Liao also shared BCG’s views on the operation and development of China Resources Group’s various businesses. While she agreed that CR has the right business landscape and is on the right track, she suggested that the group could focus its resources on business transformation and innovation during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. She believed that CR is unique among state-owned enterprises with a strong base in Hong Kong, a diversified business portfolio, a market-oriented mechanism, high operational efficiency and strong competitiveness. She added that BCG values the collaboration with CR and will be able to provide services to CR in various aspects such as consumer product retailing, medicine and healthcare, real estate operations, capital, organization and talent management and business development in Hong Kong.

The meeting was attended by BCG's heads in industrial, real estate, government, financial, pharmaceutical and talent related sectors and representatives from CR Group’s Strategic Management Department, Human Resources Department, CR Capital, CR Land, CR Healthcare, CR Vanguard, etc.
