On 14 October 2020 afternoon, Chairman Wang Xiangming of China Resources Group (“CR”) met with Vice Governor of Guangdong Province Qin Weizhong and President of the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences Li Haisheng in Shenzhen. The meeting focused on the discussion of CR’s new business development concepts in Guangdong Province and across the country, as well as in-depth exchanges with the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences to strengthen ecological and environmental protection work. A broad consensus was reached, and the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement between CR and the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences was witnessed by the delegates.

Chairman Wang Xiangming stated that CR upholds the motto of “lead the business progress and build a better life together”, with a focus on people's livelihood and achieving good development. In the future, CR will strengthen technological innovation and strive to lead the green development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Group hopes to work with the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, give full play to the advantages of both parties and build a production and research platform, while helping CR to improve its environmental management performance and the development of its environmental technology business. Vice Governor of Guangdong Province Qin Weizhong affirmed the strengthening of strategic cooperation between the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences and CR that prioritises environmental care as its key task, and supported CR to play a more significant role in Guangdong's clean energy and technological innovation.

Prior to the signing ceremony, CR Group Vice General Manager Wang Chuandong and the President of the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences Li Haisheng conducted an in-depth docking on the strategic cooperation between the two parties in ecological and environmental protection. Wang Chuandong expressed his hope to ride on the professional and technical advantages of the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences in the areas of water environment, atmospheric environment, solid waste and soil and ecology to provide technical support for CR’s major environmental care programmes and resolve the technical challenges in face of CR so as to facilitate the high-quality development of the Group’s environmental care business. President Li Haisheng gave an overview of the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, saying that the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences and CR have a good foundation and unlimited cooperation possibilities in the conversion of technological achievements and talent exchanges. He hopes to provide technical support and services, and facilitate talent interaction and communication. Through this excellent platform of CR, both parties can work together to accelerate the conversion of scientific, technological and innovation achievements in terms of ecological environment. Together, they open up the "last mile" from technology to market, and achieve complementary advantages, mutual benefit and win-win.

According to the strategic cooperation agreement, CR and the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences will launch their comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in many aspects such as the application of new technologies for ecological and environmental protection, the industrialization of scientific research results, the joint construction of cooperative entities and talent interaction and communication.
