The Belt and Road News Alliance Class Visited China Resources

On 24-25 September, 60 delegates from the Belt and Road News Alliance Class visited Guangzhou CRC Thermoelectricity Limited Company, Pacific Coffee Company and Olé Supermarket to gain an in-depth understanding of China Resources’ implementation in business innovation and green development.

The delegates arrived in Guangzhou on 24 September. At the welcome ceremony, Mr. Deng Hong, Deputy Director of the Provincial  Information Office and Guangdong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office delivered his remarks and expressed his wish to strengthen the interconnection with African countries, and create an “upgraded version” of Guangdong-Africa cooperation in the new era.   

On 25 September, the delegates visited Guangzhou CRC Thermoelectricity Limited Company under China Resources Power and  gained insights on the Company’s experience in managing clean energy and environmental protection upgrade. They also visited some Pacific Coffee shops to have a taste of its beverages and participate in various interactive activities like making hand drip coffee and engaging in latte art. The delegates have gotten a deeper understanding of Olé Supermarket’s rich global product mix, and experienced various digital shopping applications in the supermarket, such as scanning items, electronic price tagging, self-service meal ordering and utilizing self-service carts etc.

The Belt and Road News Alliance was initiated by the People's Daily in April this year. Currently, 194 media outlets from 94 countries have become formal members of the Alliance. Aside from lectures, discussions and media visits, the visiting delegates also conducted onsite interviews and studies in Shaanxi, Zhejiang, Guizhou and Guangdong, aiming to better understand the essence of Belt and Road Initiative in this era, experience China’s development progress and discuss the roadmap and initiatives for media integration.
