Group Chairman Fu Yuning headed a delegation to visit Japan from October 29th to November 2, 2018. During the visit, Fu investigated some projects, visited business partners, and listened to observations from the Japanese side on both international economic situation and Japanese economic trends. He also delivered a keynote speech during a promotional campaign mounted by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

On a field trip to Japan’s nursing homes, Chairman Fu and his entourage gained a detailed understanding of how nursing insurance works in Japan, how nursing homes recruit and train its personnel as well as how these homes run. After listening to Mitsui’s property report, the delegation examined the details of the traffic, energy efficiency in buildings, smart grid, and disaster recovery design of the Kashiwa-no-ha Smart City, followed with a tour of the Koil, an innovation industrial park. During his stay in Japan, Fu also visited a number of business partners including Fujifilm, Kirin Holdings and Mitsui Property, holding productive talks with president of Fujifilm Shigetaka  Komori, vice president of Kirin Nishimura Keisuke and president of Mitsui Yasunaga Tatsuo among others on further expanding the extent and contents of cooperation.

On October 31, Chairman Fu led the delegation to the Mizuho Bank in Japan, witnessing the signature of a bilateral strategic cooperation agreement along with bank president Nobuhide Hayashi. Looking back at the cooperative relations with China Resources Group over more than three decades, the President said Mizuho Bank is willing to leverage the cost and channel advantages of Japan’s financial companies to achieve a win-win end as CRG pursues its global ambition. Fu extended his gratitude for Mizuho’s long-time support for CRG and suggested grabbing the opportunities in third-party market amid the road and belt initiative to deepen bilateral strategic cooperation worldwide, especially in big health and smart city fields. On the morning of November 1, Fu delivered a keynote speech entitled “Joining hands to navigate through the future uncertainties” during the “Think Asia, Think Hong Kong” campaign rolled out by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. In his speech, Fu talked about the close business contacts between Japan and China, the export-oriented economy in both countries and the highly complementary characteristics in industry and market. As the two countries mark the 40th anniversary of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between China and Japan, Fu proposed, companies in both countries should actively respond to the speeches of the Chinese premier and Japanese Prime Minister, making joint efforts in exploring a third-party market cooperation mechanism and aiming for an all-win result.
