China Resources Group Chairman Fu Yuning Visits Thailand

On the afternoon of August 4, upon the invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) visited Thailand in the company of China Resources (CR) Group Chairman, Fu Yuning. They attended the Five Mekong River Countries' Business Leaders Forum, Hong Kong-Thailand New Generation Industry Leaders' Forum and other events on this visit. They also attended a welcome dinner hosted by Somkid Jatusripitak, Vice Prime Minister of Thailand.

At the Five Mekong River Countries' Business Leaders Forum, all attendees agreed that the five countries along the Mekong River possess great growth potential with social stability and rapid economic development. Under the framework of China's “Belt and Road” initiative, the Lancang-Mekong co-operation has achieved substantial progress over the past year. Continuous effort will be made in promoting the full cooperation on both the official and civil levels, and the horizons of cooperation will be broadened to boost the economic development in the region. Entrepreneurs participating at the forum said they are willing to further cooperate with Hong Kong enterprises such as China Resources Group, to ply their expertise in such fields as finance, consumer goods and healthcare.

Accompanied by Bernard Charnwut Chan, Convener of the Executive Council of Hong Kong on August 5, Chairman Fu visited the Bumrungrad International Hospital, where he held a discussion with the management of the hospital. He noted that the Bumrungrad International Hospital has initiated a successful path maintaining customer satisfaction, and, boosting social benefits without government subsidies in light of a new series of innovative concepts such as "medical tourism". This practice serves as a great point of reference for Chinese medical institutions in boosting Chinese medical reform and the promotion of social support to operating hospitals. The hospital representatives said that China has always been its target market, and they also believed that China's medical market has great development potential. The Bumrungrad International Hospital is honored to work with China Resources to explore cooperation, enhance the medial service quality in China and promote Chinese medical system reform.

During his stay in Thailand, Fu also visited the All Seasons Property where he was briefed on the business development of the Southeast Asian headquarters. Chen Ying, Group Chief Strategy Officer, and faculty of Group General Office and China Resources Healthcare also joined the visit.
