1. How did the company develop into today’s China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd.?
China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (“CR” or “China Resources Group”) is a diversified holding enterprise group registered and operating in Hong Kong. CR was first established as Liow & Co. in Hong Kong in 1938, and was later restructured and renamed as China Resources Company in 1948. In 1952, instead of being affiliated to the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, it came under the Central Trade Department (now known as the Ministry of Commerce). In 1983, it was again restructured into China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd. In December 1999, CR was no longer linked to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, and came under state management. In 2003, under the direct supervision of SASAC, it became one of the key state-owned enterprises.

2. What are CR’s key businesses and its market position?
The Group’s core businesses include consumer products (including retail, beer, food and beverag), power, real estate, pharmaceuticals, cement, gas and finance. CR’s diversified businesses are built on a solid industrial foundation and are highly competitive. Its retail, beer, power, real estate, gas, and pharmaceutical businesses are industry leaders within their fields. The scope of CR’s retail business, its Snow beer, and gas operation are the largest of their kind in China. CR Power is an independent power generation enterprise with the fastest earnings growth, lowest operating cost, and highest operational efficiency in China. CR Land is one of the most solid, integrated real estate developers in mainland China, while “Snow beer”, “C’estbon” purified water, “CR Vanguard” supermarkets, and the “MIXc” mall are all well-known brand names nationwide.

3. What are the listed companies in which CR has direct or indirect holding interests?
In Hong Kong, CR owns six listed companies – CR Beer, CR Power, CR Land, CR Cement, CR Gas and CR Pharmaceutical. In mainland China, CR has indirect holding interests in three listed companies, including CR Sanjiu, CR Double-Crane and Dong-E E-Jiao. CR Power and CR Land are all HSI constituents. CR Gas and CR Cement are constituent stocks on both Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Composite Index and Hang Seng China-Affiliated Corporations Index. On October 28, 2016, China Resources Pharmaceutical Group Limited (3320HK) was officially listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
